How does the shortened military term affect Stop Loss?
They don’t have anything to do with one another. Stop-Loss is about keeping a unit together thru a deployment cycle. You don’t want to train one person up for months to go then have them get out part way thru & a new kid come over w/o adequate preparation to take their place. It’s also there on the backside to ensure they get processed back to the US right with their pay & everything, and that any medical or mental issues are being addressed. It may suck if you were fixing to get out of the military, but for the most part it keeps people with one unit versus having them move on to another. In that case it’s a good thing, cause you wouldn’t want to go from one unit that’s in the middle of a deployment over to another one that’s just fixing to leave, or get moved from one place with your family & go straight to Iraq before you’re settled. It’s there to help both the troops & the deploying units. What it is NOT is some movie crap where you complete a deployment & then get called back into
