How does the set up at Ulster Rugby compare with London Irish?
The set up at Ulster is very different. At London Irish, it had got more like a 9 to 5 job, whereas here the sessions are shorter, but far more intense. This gives us adequate rest time, and therefore we are better prepared for matches. Did you know many of the Ulster players before arriving? I knew Fitzy, Humph and Kieran Campbell from London Irish, and Kevin Maggs from the Ireland squad. I also knew Bryn at Bangor and obviously Mark McCall from Bangor and London Irish. I also always kept an eye on how Ulster were doing, who was playing for them, and I would always be checking Ulster s results on the web. Are there any Ulster players you admired and looked forward to playing alongside? With the success of last season, I want to fit in with the group of young back row forwards, and it will be great to link in with and support the back line of Humphreys, Trimble and Bowe.
