How does the sender of an important electronic document know for sure that the correct person receives the document?
The sender knows for sure where the electronic document is going because he or she must have the recipient’s certificate. Also, in order for the transaction to be successful, an SSL handshake (client identifying the server and vice-versa) must be completed. The document sent is also encrypted, and only the recipient can decrypt the message. Also, the sender signs the document, which in turn shows the recipient that the document hasnt been altered by outside intrusion.
