How does the Segway work ?
It’s an intelligent network of sensors, mechanical assemblies and control systems that enable the Segway to balance and move on two wheels. It’s an amazing machine! The second you step on, five micro-machined gyroscopes and two accelerometers sense the changing terrain and your body position at 100 times per second–faster than your brain can think!
Dynamic stabilization enables the Segway HT to work seamlessly with the body’s movements. Gyroscopes and tilt sensors in the unit monitor a rider’s center of gravity at about 100 times a second. When the rider leans slightly forward, the Segway HT moves forward. When the rider leans slightly back, the Segway HT moves backward.
