How does the search facility work?
ShareNow searches through the content Title, Description and Tags as well as usernames. If more than one word is searched for, ShareNow will find content that includes those words in any order i.e. it is not an “exact phrase” search. In the results, a summary is given that shows the number of files, usernames and sharewalls found, that fit the search terms. Also, the tabulated search results themselves can be sorted according to various columns, by clicking on the column headings. Interacting with Others How can I send a message to another user? DC stores the virtually continuous public input into DC in a structured database. The data includes new and updated biographical information on the Artist Pages, the provenance of paintings in the galleries, nominations for the Digital Color Award, messages in the bulletin board, notes in the guestbook and product descriptions in the store. The Search Center offers the user a choice of database searches, each operating on a different part of the database. The database searches are efficient. They are case insensitive and will find material containing the sought after word or name even if one only inputs a portion of it. The results are returned five items at a time. If you are searching for information about an artist, consider posting what information you have on the bulletin board. Similarly, an owner of a work of art who is seeking more information about its creator may register the artist with DC (if the artist is not already registered) and upload a photograph of the artwork.
