When your vehicle is parked your permit must be displayed on the dashboard near the registration label for the Traffic Officers to view. As long as the permit is clearly displayed and your vehicle is parked in accordance with the Parking Concessions no parking infringement will be applied to the vehicle.

Most schemes operate by giving you paper or electronic vouchers in return for a reduction in your salary (sometimes called salary sacrifice). The reduction must not take your salary below the national minimum wage. The vouchers are exempt from tax and national insurance up to a limit of 55 per week or 243 per month per parent regardless of the number of children you have.

Mentors will be both female and male academic staff at the IoP. There are four ways for mentors and mentees to be paired up: • when you complete the sign-up form for the scheme you will be invited to nominate a specific mentor if you have someone in mind. We suggest you nominate someone who isn’t involved in your appraisal or line management. Please note: your nomination is entirely confidential and will not be available to anyone apart from the project coordinator. • we will compile an online database of staff who are prepared to mentor and have attended training, which you can browse and choose someone from. • we will have a ‘speed-mentoring’ event in September at which you can meet a large number of available mentors, after which you can nominate someone. • alternatively, if you prefer, the project team can suggest three potential mentors on the basis of your regis

First, a social worker will visit you and talk to you about the type of help and support you need, and plan with you appropriate services. This is called an ‘assessment’. You can get direct payments if the outcome of your assessment is that you are eligible for services. We use the government’s ‘Fair Access to Care Services’ guidance to work out your eligibility. If you are a carer, you can also get direct payments for services provided under the Carers and Disabled Children Act 2000. If you are eligible, you can either ask the social worker to directly arrange the services or ask for a direct payment to arrange your own services, or a mix of the two.

An applicant will be interviewed by the Accommodations Officer to establish their housing history, financial circumstances and any other support needs. If the applicant is judged satisfactory to join the scheme we will help to match them to a property on our list. The applicant may also look for suitable accommodation themselves. Any accommodation found by the applicant will be vetted by the Council.
