How does the SADD organization support safe teen driving?
SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) was founded 30 years ago as Students Against Driving Drunk and today is the nation’s largest peer-to-peer youth education, prevention and activism organization with chapters in thousands of schools and in all of the states. SADD chapters typically consist of motivated students and a committed adult advisor, and their influence reaches across the school community and into families, local businesses and local media. SADD chapters have historically focused foremost on teen driving behaviors, as traffic crashes remain the number one killer of teens, accounting for 3,500 deaths in 2008.
