The Ryder Cup is one of the top 10 global sporting events followed by hundreds of millions of people across the world. Television coverage of the 2006 event at The K Club in Ireland reached more than 750 million homes in 140 countries – a potential audience in excess of two billion people. More than 1,000 newspaper, magazine, radio and television journalists, photographers and film crew were accredited for the event. And more than 260,000 spectators attended over five days.
