The final rule adds a new type of safety assessment, the roadability review. A roadability review is an on-site examination of an IEPs inspection, repair, and maintenance operation and records to determine compliance with applicable Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (i.e., parts 390, 393, and 396). The Agency will conduct roadability reviews to evaluate the safety and regulatory compliance status of IEPs.
