How does the role of the Board differ from the role of the Health Services Commissioner?

0

The Health & Community Services Complaints Commissioner (HCSCC) helps people – service users, carers and service providers – resolve complaints about health and community services, when a direct approach to the service provider is either unreasonable, or has not succeeded. A complaint can be made to the HCSCC about individual doctors, hospitals or health clinics. The HCSCC is an independent statutory authority. The Commissioner’s complaints process strongly emphasises conciliation either formally or informally, to resolve complaints. The HCSCC Telephone Enquiry Service can be contacted on (08) 8226 8666 and operates from Monday – Thursday between 10am-4pm. Further information about the role of the HCSCC can be found at http://www.hcscc.sa.gov.au.
