How does the redundant server work?
Mail is normally delivered to the primary server located in Houston. Should communication links fail, or should the server itself fail or become unavailable, email is automatically routed to the redundant mail server and is stored. Every 5 minutes the redundant server tries to connect to the primary server to deliver the mail. In the event of an extended outage, mail can be made available from the redundant server.
