How does the rating system work?
The current ratings simply describe where your record falls within the average for the given trick. The formula is “your_record / avg_record”, so numbers greater than one indicate above average, and less than one are below average. Below is a description of my failed rating system: Comparing records for different tricks is a challenge, but one that I thought was worth attempting. There is no scale to compare the ratings to. Basically, the higher the number, the better. The advantage of this system is that, rather than a simple ranking, it gives you an idea of where your ability stands relative to other jugglers. Here is the breakdown of the algorithm which I use: (I reserve the right to change this as I see fit. Comments welcome. Constructive suggestions prefered.
Once you have received items from your swap partners, you can log back into Swap-bot and view the corresponding swap page. On this page you will see an option in the yellow option box to “Rate the partners who sent you stuff.” When you click on this option a list of all of the participants who were assigned to send items to you will open with a list of rating options and comment section for each. This option appears right after partners are assigned for each swap. However, only the most positive rating is available at first. The other two rating options appear one week after the mail deadline for each swap. This delay allows time for items to travel through the mail. It may take longer than a week to receive a package from your partner, so don’t feel like you must rate your partners right away. There is always the option of logging back into Swap-bot and changing your ratings at any time, even for old swaps. Everyone’s average rating, as well as the total number of hearts and stars rec
Students who have had you as a tutor are eligible to take a standard feedback quiz about you and leave comments. In the tutor results page (the page that is displayed when a tutor search is made from the “Find a Tutor” page), tutors will be ranked based on their average feedback scores. The highest rated tutors for a given topic will be listed at the top.
