How does the product tracking & book promotion widget work?
The widget holds a cache version of a products data for just under one hour. After the cache expires, it will update on the next page request. In other words, whenever a page is requested once the hourly cache expires, the data updates. The build time at the bottom right hand side of the widget shows you the last time the widget updated (GMT). Anyone visiting your webpage will always see the widget updated within the last hour. As it stands, the current widget on your site makes use of only html and is small and secure and does not use any of your sites bandwidth (which is would if we used AJAX).
