How does the practicum work in the face-to-face program?
Students will obtain and negotiate their practicum with potential sponsors, and develop a terms of reference document which will define the project. It’s very similar to the process of proposal writing, which will serve students well should they embark on a career in consulting/contracting. Students then work for 9 weeks on their negotiated project, after which time they return to the classroom for a 2-week period. During this time, students are taught techniques for web presentation of maps, and the students deliver their final presentations and reports.
