How does the point system work?
Each week that you succeed at completing your goal number of steps, you will receive 10 points. For example, if Jane’s goal for the week is 2000 steps and she checks in with 2222 steps then she receives 10 points for meeting her goal. If you do not achieve your goal number of steps, but you exceed your previous week’s goal and got half way there, then you will receive three points . Let’s assume Jane’s first during check-in she recorded 1600 steps and her new goal is 2000 steps. If she only achieves 1875 steps, then she earns three points for that week. Points are also award for weight loss. At the beginning and at the end of the program you will be weighed during your check-in. Each participant will receive 10 points for every 1 pound of weight loss.
Instant Winner amounts and bonus rewards are awarded in point values where 3,000 points = $1. Points automatically convert to cash values whenever you request a check. You can request a check when you have reached a minimum account balance of $10, or 30,000 points. For checks requested after 12/20/08, checks will be paid in multiples of $10. For example, if you have a balance of $12, and request a check, you will receive a check for $10, and have $2 remaining in your account. If you have a balance of $26, and request a check, you would receive a check for $20, and have $6 remaining in your account.
A predetermined number of points are assigned to each SDI survey, depending upon its length and complexity. When you complete and return a survey, your online shopping account will be credited with the number of points assigned to that particular survey. In order to be eligible for items with a higher point value, you can save points and combine them across several surveys. You may redeem your points, at any time, for items in the online catalog or any of the gift certificate(s), as long as your “point balance” meets or exceeds the “point value” of the item(s) selected.
When you buy into the DVC, you purchase a certain number of points per year. The current price (retail) is $101 per point, for purchases at SSR -with a 150 point minimum for initial purchase. Let’s say you purchased 200 points. You would be assigned a “use year” (that is the month of the year in which your points would recycle). For example, my use year is February, and I own 200 points. Every February, 200 points are available for me to use that year. When I decide to book my vacation, I choose the dates I want to visit, and the type of room that I want to stay in. That will determine how many points that visit will cost me. I also have the option of banking my points into the next use year, or borrowing points against next year for this year.
