How does the plan impact forest licensees with harvesting rights within the planning area?
The plan provides information that is intended to assist forest licensees as they plan their harvesting activities within the planning area. It also builds on the commitment of local recreation interests to work with licensees to ensure that forest development activities proceed in a manner that works for forestry and also benefits recreation. There are a number of very good opportunities to design forest development plans that will also facilitate winter recreation and will provide direct benefits to local and visiting recreation users as well as to the local economy. Some examples include improved ski runs and snowmobile access on the east slope of Westridge and on Crystal Ridge, as well as improved snowmobile access in Allan Creek.
