How does the photo red light system work?
The following will occur when the light turns red at a signal controlled intersection with a red light photo system has been installed: • a photo is taken of the front of the vehicle and front license plate when the vehicles speed and position trip a sensor located before the intersection • a photo is also taken of the driver when the vehicle enters the intersection on a red light The photo information is submitted to law enforcement through an automated records database and a citation is mailed to the registered owner of the vehicle.
