How does the performance of the SAPehpi compare to the process used so far (mainly transaction SAINT and the JSPM)?
SAPehpi was tested in several scenarios where a system was updated using SAPehpi, transaction SAINT, and SAINT in a “downtime minimized mode” with the following results: SAPehpi saved round about 50% of downtime compared to the SAINT based process – for details see part “A comparison of processing times of SAPehpi vs. SAINT” in SDN article on SAPehpi and SAP EHP1 for SAP NetWeaver 7.0″. Also, with SAPehpi the point of no.return is reached much later than in the SAINT process. (Note that since SAINT is a transaction that requires the system to be up and running “downtime” means a period of time where business processes are interrupted).
