How does the online prescription/refill system work?

0

The online prescription/refill system is available only to established registered patients and cannot be used unless the patient has seen the prescribing doctor in person appropriately as mandated by law. The patient places the prescription their prescription request via their computer and if approved by the prescribing doctor, the prescription is transmitted to the patient’s preferred pharmacy by fax over a secure line. The system allows the patient to print only one copy of the prescription. Appropriately qualified staff members may be allowed to assist in processing online prescription requests, but all requests remain pending until co-signed and authorized by a supervising doctor. The online prescription system cannot be used for controlled drug prescriptions. When the e-mail to fax system is used to transmit a prescription, a fee applies.
