The Enumerator, Fox Systems, will resolve all issues related to NPI applications and updates that contain errors. They will investigate situations in which applications for NPIs match or closely match health care providers who already have been assigned NPIs. In addition, the last digit in the 10-digit NPI is the check digit which contains the Luhn formula. The formula confirms the validity of the NPI.
