How does the NIM apply to Road Policing Departments?
Whilst there is a valuable system of performance indicators and government targets in place in respect of road casualty reduction, road policing officers should still have a good knowledge of divisional or force goals just like their uniform and CID / plain clothes colleagues. The NIM is relevant to all officers and whilst individuals and teams will have busy commitments to meet on a daily basis, it is the role of police managers to ensure that all officers are effectively tasked so as to contribute towards combating agreed divisional and force objectives.
