How does the NIC view its role in the management of mutual aid resources? Is there potential for conflict between the NIC and EMAC?
The NIC does not manage resources – the NIC facilitates resource management by providing resource typing definitions for nationally important resources. We are working with the US Forest Service to make ROSS available to the 44 States that have inquired/requested access to ROSS to manage their inventories. All the work we have been engaged with is in support of EMAC and for the purpose of making EMAC more efficient.
