A.8. The ordering physician can call NIA with the required medical information. Within 48 hours (two business days), an NIA representative will contact the physician to either approve or deny the request, or ask for more information. If more information is requested, NIA will render a decision within 24 hours of obtaining required information. In some cases, the ordering physician will be given the names of the radiology sites where the member should be referred for the study.
