How does the mood/tone of the novel reinforce the concepts that are developed?

Mood itself can be a concept. If the mood of the novel is constantly dark, then that says a lot about the author’s outlook: that it is also dark. That way, any of the concepts presented in the novel usually follow that feel. For example, if there is a concept of a romantic relationship and much of what’s being discussed about it is in a depressed mood, then the concept of a relationship also takes on a depressed mood. Hope that helped! Let me know, because I’m studying to be an English Language Arts teacher!
