How does the Mi tweeter compare to the previous M series?
A. It is fundamentally the same tweeter as before. It uses the same metal dome, suspension and voice coil. However, it now uses more conventional ferrite magnets, inside a metal shielding can. It is also mounted on a cast aluminium face plate. We stopped using Neo magnets deliberately as we saw a consumer trend towards using higher-power amplifiers. The Mi tweeters ferrite magnet and metal face-plate act like a heatsink, so power handling is increased and thermal compression is reduced.
