How does the Merlot Solutions™ utilize the existing wiring infrastructure?
A. The Merlot Solutions can be configured as one or two-wire solutions. Where two wiring pairs are available in a room, voice traffic is directly routed to the PBX over one pair; data traffic, intended for the Internet, is routed to the Merlot Chassis Applications and Service Platform (ASP) over the other pair. When only one wiring pair is available per room, the solution supports converged services to route both voice and data traffic to the Merlot Chassis. Voice traffic is then routed to the property’s PBX for processing. Merlot utilizes technology to deliver toll-quality voice and high levels of reliability for converged services.
