How does the Med-San™ Process ensure that the discharge is “chemically inert”?
The Med-San™ Process wet oxidation cycle destroys pharmaceutical compounds beyond regeneration followed by a chelation cycle to bind any remaining unreacted metal ions in the treated waste stream with a chelating agent, such as ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA). The chelation cycle makes the fluid discharge “chemically inert” by forming unreacted metal ions into soluble, complex molecules in which the metal ions are inactivated, preventing their further reactions with other elements or ions.
