How does the MCC placement work?
Eligible files are forwarded to the SALT coordinator in the Global Service Learning (GSL) department. The SALT coordinator reads the files. If there is a clear match between an available placement opportunity and the applicant’s skills, the file is forwarded to the MCC country staff and their partners. In case there is a discrepancy between the applicant’s interests and the placement availability or the partners’ needs, the SALT coordinator contacts the applicant for further discernment before forwarding the file to the field. Upon receiving the file in-country, MCC staff share the information with their partners. MCC defers to the partner when it comes to a decision regarding an assignment invitation. Once the decision is made and the invitation is extended, the candidate has five days for a final discernment.
