How does the maritime development policy apply to tidal works?
Current application, assessment and approval requirements for tidal works, including prescribed tidal works, remain in place. Tidal works within a local government tidal area (generally referred to as prescribed tidal works) will in future be subject to the Draft SPP once it’s finalised, in addition to requirements and assessment criteria outlined in the existing Prescribed Tidal Works Code.

Tidal works within a local government tidal area (generally referred to as prescribed tidal works) will be subject to the State Planning Policy for Coastal Protection once finalised, in addition to requirements and assessment criteria outlined in the existing Prescribed Tidal Works Code.
