How does the KIV-21 handle static routing and address substitution?
The KIV-21 provides complete static routing support. Static unicast with KIV-21requires the entry of static routes at Red routers and the configuration of a pre-placedkey map within the KIV-21. A single pre-placed key can be mapped to any number ofRed entities behind a KIV-21 and to any number of KIV-21s, through the configurationof Source and Destination Address masks within the key map. Destination addresssubstitution is an option of each key map entry, so that the Red destination address caneither be substituted with the Clear IP address of the destination KIV-21 or passedthrough for use as the destination address of the Clear IP header. When Destinationaddress substitution is used, it is the key map that does the static routing on the Blacknetwork side. When Destination address substitution is not used, static routes must beentered at the first Black router to allow the Black routers to route on the Black networkside. The KIV-21 key map can be configured on-line either locally or r
