How does the Japanese Straightening work?
There are 10 to 15 steps to this process. The steps for this procedure depend on your hair and the speed of stylist. 1. The consultation – We test for tensile strength, porosity, elasticity and hair damage. 2. Shampoo the hair 3. Dry the hair 4. Apply the activator (perm lotion) 5. Allow the hair to process – This process could take as long as an hour depending on the strength of your curl. 6. Perform the strand test 7. Rinse the activator out well 8. Blow dry hair again 9. Iron the hair – This step requires a lot of patience and expertise. We use very specialized irons that can adjust heat between 80 to 220 degrees Celsius and keep it constant and the irons permanently lock in the straightness and moisture. This step takes up to an hour. 10. Apply the neutralizer – Neutralizer is applies and left in about 10-15 minutes which stabilizes the ph balance. 11. Rinsing the hair and conditioning 12.
