How does the irrigation system work?
The irrigation system is a drip irrigation line which is supplied by treated greywater, approved by City of Greater Geelong and the EPA. The irrigation system is an automated system connected to moisture sensors. The irrigation system is programmed to turn on every other day, however, if it has been raining the moisture sensors connected to the irrigation system will override the program and the irrigation system won’t turn on for that day due to the moisture in the soil being sufficient to supply the plants. This also ensures the greywater is not being used on days where it has been or is raining and prevents leaching of greywater into neighbouring properties.
