How does the IP Claim process impact the random name selection process?
Your chances of success with your pre-registration application is only dependant on the number of other pre-registration requests for the same string in the registry pool. The IP Claims notification process is designed to allow people to withdrawn their requests from the pool if they choose. If you choose to proceed with your pre-registration request, the fact that someone else has filed an IP Claim for that string has no bearing on your chances of being allocated the name during the random selection process.
