How does the initiative promote well-planned communities and manage growth?
In many areas of the state, State Trust land is situated in the middle of or adjacent to privately owned lands. This can often result in hodge-podge growth, premature development, and greater public expense to taxpayers to cover the costs of extending roads, sewers, water lines and other infrastructure over and beyond the State Trust land to private parcels.
