How does the Indian book trade and publishing market compare with the rest of the world?

0

India is already the third largest producer of books after the US and UK. The market is growing here and in the coming years, it is expected to show phenomenal growth. An indication to this is the fact that most of the major publishing players in the world have set up base in India and are either involved in reprint kind of work or original publishing of manuscripts. On the technology front, with import liberalisation, we have the same publishing equipment available here and the players are rapidly adopting and upgrading their infrastructure. So technology has definitely helped the book publishing market and will continue to play a significant role.
