How does the increase in tolls for the Tacoma Narrows Bridge affect Pierce County District Court?
The toll for the Tacoma Narrows Bridge increased on July 1, 2008. The fine for toll violations detected by photo enforcement increased from $49 to $52. The court that processes the photo enforced toll violations, Pierce County District Court (PD1), will use a new BARS code 354.00.31 on a local law. The court portion of the revenue remains at $40. The local for the Washington State Patrol Highway Account increased from $9 to $12 as required by the formula in RCW 46.63.160.
