Real and personal property awards are based on a FEMA Inspection Report and Federally-approved IFGP guidelines. Other categories require supporting documentation from the applicant verifying disaster relatedness and the dollar amount of the loss or expense. However, the IFGP does not restore applicants to their pre-disaster status and does not cover real property upgrades, luxury, nonessential, or decorative items.
