How Does The Hydrological Cycle Perform Its Function Of Pertinent Distribution?
Over the stretch of every era, every period and every centre, be it the prehistoric times or the contemporary years, the importance of water has not faded and remains paramount in the gamut of bounties that Nature has blessed this earth with. The water that is sent from the atmosphere to the earth is distributed to various parts of the earth in a number of different ways. In the form of rain, snow or hail, water reaches the earth and this phenomenon is termed as precipitation. However not all of the water from the atmosphere is distributed to the land surface of the earth, which covers only twenty five percent of the earth’s surface. Some of the water from the atmosphere is also absorbed by rivers, streams, seas and oceans. Also some of the water is transferred back to the atmosphere by the process of evaporation and also transpiration that is done by plants. Such processes are termed as condensation. This transfer of water from one state to another characterizes the pith of the hydrol
