How does the hormone HCG work?
HCG (Human Chorionic Gonatotropin) is a naturally occurring hormone in humans. It is made by the placenta during pregnancy. It is not a sex hormone. It functions to insure that the developing fetus has all the nutrition necessary by utilizing the mother’s “deep” fat stores. It does this by signalling the hypothalamus of her brain to mobilize and use fat stores if her nutritional intake is low. For weight loss purposes, with close medical supervision, we are able to create the same effect with very small doses of HCG and a restricted calorie diet effectively and safely. Your weight loss will occur rapidly and without hunger, food cravings or weakness normally experienced with very low calorie diets. Your fat is rapidly metabolized into fuel (approximately 2,000 calories) at a rate of about 1 pound per day to satisfy your daily energy needs. Also, exercise is totally optional!
