How does the hippocampus process episodic memory?
Episodic memory is the memory for specific personal events. Lesions of the hippocampus have been shown to result in an inability to form new memories with episodic memory being particularly sensitive to this damage. This project uses a multidisciplinary approach employing neurophysiological, behavioural and neuropsychological techniques to investigate the mechanisms within the hippocampus and associated structures that support episodic memory.
