How does the HGS® create improvements in fuel economy and emissions?
• Diesel does not burn as quickly and efficiently as other fuels such as petrol. This can lead to a significant proportion of the diesel not burning completely – the fuel is still in the process of combustion as the engine starts the exhaust phase of its cycle. • When the HGS® is connected, small amounts of injected hydrogen gas mix with the diesel charge. As hydrogen burns 10 times faster than diesel it has the effect of speeding up the combustion process. This allows the fuel to burn more efficiently at the top of the stroke, resulting in increased combustion efficiency, lower emissions and improved economy.
