How does the Hawkeye Alert system work?
Hawkeye Alert allows Hawkeye administrators to send recorded emergency messages (“Hawkeye Alert”) to students and staff by cell phone, landline phone, email, and text-message within minutes. When a threat or campus emergency is identified, Hawkeye Alert uses contact information from Hawkeye’s student registration (SOAR) or staff personnel information (Human Resources) to simultaneously send thousands of messages directly to students, faculty, and staff using cell phone numbers, text messaging, home phone numbers, office phone numbers, and email. The entire campus community can be notified in approximately 20 minutes.
