How does the guest system and rider replacement work?
From: Kevin Meynell A BEL and BPL team is permitted a replacement facility if one or more of its declared riders are absent for any of the following reasons: • Injured while speedway racing. • Illness or non-racing injury supported by a medical certificate, in which case the rider may not resume within seven days of the certificate date without permission of the BSPA. • Suspended by the SCB. • In dispute with the team, provided that the circumstances have been accepted by the BSPA. • Riding in a World Speedway Championship (Individual, Team or Junior), or in a compulsory competition (e.g. test match, national championship). • Riding in a Final Round of the World Longtrack Championship (only for the day of the meeting and not for practice days or other rounds of the competition). Replacement facilities are available as follows: • One heat leader absent – Guest or Rider Replacement. • Fourth or fifth ranked rider absent – Rider Replacement. • Two or more of the top five riders absent – R
