A. (S.C. 3/4) Experience is awarded on a per-combat basis – after combat is over, all the experience for all the monsters is added up and divided among party members. Any remainder is lost. But you never get just 4 xp; even if you killed one measly goblin at level 8 you’d get at least 50 xp.
