How does the free hit counter work?
Without giving away the farm: each time an individual requests to view a webpage containing the counter code, a request is made to display our logo graphic. Tricky point is that the image resides on our server. We not only dish-up the image as requested, but also we take a snapshot of information about the individual requesting your webpage and overall track how many people came to the site, when, etc. From there our team of scientists massage that data into the useful website traffic reports which you may access at your account login.
A small piece of javascript code must be installed in all webpages to be tracked. Each time a person browsing the web requests a tracked webpage the counter code will communicate with our servers. Basic anonymous information about the website visitor will be recorded. Up to date hit counter stats may be accessed anytime via the Internet.
