How does the Excite Email Notifier work?
When a new message arrives in your Excite inbox, one of the animated notifiers you have selected will appear on your screen and let you know each in its own way that you have received a new email message. (The surfer dude notifier, for example, will surf out onto your screen and say, “Dude, like you totally got mail.”) Once you have been alerted to your new message, right-click on the notifier. A menu will pop-up with the following options: • Preview [1] new message – This option allows you to 1) learn who sent the new message and at what time, and 2) read the beginning of the message’s subject line. This way, you can determine whether or not you wish to open the email immediately. The five most recent messages in your inbox will appear in this preview screen. • Open Mail Skip the preview screen and immediately go to your email inbox.
