How does the ESL Dept. support parent involvement for families with a language other than English?
The following opportunities are available to encourage parental involvement: · ESL Parent Advisory Council (ESL-AC): Members consist of parents of ELLs and community representatives who advise the ESL/Bilingual Department and staff on matters concerning planning, developing, administering, and evaluating ESL/Bilingual education programs, and to make recommendations to the Director or designee. · ESL/Bilingual Parent Liaisons/Community Agents: Parents and community members hired to support schools with direct translation and communications with language minority parents.
