How does the EQ2 lore relate to the original game of Everquest?
Vhalen: The universe of EverQuest II is based on some very early visions that I worked on with Bill Trost, one of the original creators of EverQuest. You will find some elements in EQII that we had hoped would make it into the launch of the original EverQuest but didn’t quite make it, as well as past entities of Norrath. Warcry: One of the topics players speculate a lot on is the timeline of events in EQ2’s history. Do you have a timeline of our history that you have written? Vhalen: I do have a timeline. I know where we have been and where we are going. Due to the mechanics of the game, exact dates are avoided, but I do know where major events fall in relation to one another. We have already started our march on that timeline and soon we will all… well, you’ll have to wait and see what awaits us at the end of that road. Warcry: What is one of your favorite storylines in the game? Vhalen: My favorite storyline in game is the one that touches upon most of Norrath, but remains unseen.
