How does the environment factor into Ciscos product design?
Cisco designs environmentally conscious products to promote both ecologic responsibility and sound business. As part of the Design for Environment (DfE) program, Cisco engineers design products that consume less energy to manufacture and less energy to operate, saving money for customers and reducing environmental impact. DfE also accounts for the materials used in product components and the manufacture of products to ensure that no hazardous materials are used and that the products can be recycled when they reach the end of their useful life.
