How does the energy efficiency of a frame wrapped with SIPs compare to conventional construction?
SIPs have several energy saving advantages over standard construction methods. The R values of SIPs are at least 30-40% higher than fiberglass insulation of the same thickness, but this is only half the story. The greatest energy saving advantage SIPs have over conventional framing and insulating is they create a seamless insulated envelope around the timber frame.
